A Glimpse of
Donna Pacinelli's Background

Donna Pacinelli Corrigan has been restoring historic and abandoned properties since 1980. Donna studied Painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and received a BFA from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, where she met her husband, artist Dennis Corrigan. On their first date, Dennis asked Donna if she would like to drive around and look at old houses. It was the beginning of a kinship that has lasted almost thirty years, and still counting.

Dennis and Donna worked together on three of their own residences, while pursuing separate art careers. Donna was illustrating books and periodicals for such publishers as Hearst Publishing in New York City, and Philadelphia Magazine, while part time teaching at Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art in Dover NJ, and Marywood University in Scranton PA. After ten years of balancing these multiple interests, she decided to resign from teaching and illustrating, and concentrate all of her energy to saving buildings.

To date, Donna has restored eight jointly-owned properties, and has acted as a consultant on over fifty others in NY, NJ, and PA.

Pacinelli: Heidi & Grandfather
Though my artwork has roots in realism, I am most interested in abstract principles of color and design, as well as the expressive nature of image making.

As I work with media (often dictated by the subject matter), I search for symbolic images hidden in natural and inanimate forms. My hope is that the finished pieces transcend mere objectivity, and embody my conscious, as well as subliminal intentions."
