John Bryans' Watercolors
John Bryans, well-known for his flawless watercolors, spent several months in Italy in the early 1990s. What resulted was an extraordinary collection of superbly designed and flawlessly executed scenes of the Italian landscape.
Bryans' watercolors contain well-defined buildings complete with their classically Italian architectural details, scenes that are a superb balance of light and dark, sunlight and shadow, and rich color throughout . His "Venice Evening" is lit up by the lamplight flowing through the windows and reflecting on the canal's water. Even his people appear natural as they walk together through the pleasant dusky evening.
